Central West Team Penning was established in 2011 with the first event being held in Canowindra on the 12th and 13th February. We are an afflilate of Team Penning Australia and we follow their rules at our events.
Through helping other clubs in their commencement and runnning our own events, our aim is to broaden the sport throughout NSW and give more people the opportunity to come and have a go. You can Contact Us here.
TEAM PENNING
Team Penning is a fun, fast growing horse sport suitable for all ages and level of riding abilities. It's fun for all the family and involves teams of 3.
The aim is to work together in your team to pen three head of cattle with the same assigned coloured collars from a mob within the designated time given.
ARENA SORTING
Arena sorting involves a team of 3 cutting out cattle and moving them from one pen to the other in the correct order within the time allowed.
CANOWINDRA
Canowindra is a small but pleasant town with a population of approximately 2,000 people. Its location is on the banks of the Belabula River in Central west NSW, 3.5 hours west of Sydney between Cowra and Orange.
Canowindra is home to the world famous fish fossil collection and well known for its vineyards, hot air ballooning, historic main street, arts and crafts.
